Avoid walking your dog during hot weather as they cannot handle heat as well as humans. Even on a warm day, dogs are prone to overheating, especially when active. Opt for gentle walks early in the morning or late in the evening when temperatures are cooler, or engage your dog with stimulating indoor activities. Always consider the weather when planning walks and take regular breaks in shaded areas.

A -lways Bring Water๐Ÿ’ง

Water is crucial for your dog year-round, particularly on hot days. When out with your dog, always carry a bottle of water and a bowl so they can stay hydrated.

W -atch for Heat Stroke ๐Ÿ‘€

Dogs can suffer from heatstroke when they overheat and cannot lower their body temperature, which can be fatal. This risk exists even in warm temperatures, not just extreme heat. Recognize the signs of heatstroke and act quickly as it requires immediate veterinary care.ย 

Certain dogs, including those that are overweight, young, elderly, flat-faced, giant breeds, or have thick coats, are more susceptible to heatstroke, even in moderate heat. Signs of heatstroke include:
